WATCH: Karl Littau on Dry Printing Electrodes
08.16.24
At present, battery manufacturing consumes excess chemicals and energy that are not fundamental to the process and incur a lot of overhead and waste.
One of the most cost-intensive aspects is the electrocoating itself, which is typically done with a slurry-based process and uses solvents.
Alternatively, dry electrode printing greatly simplifies electrocoating and eliminates a lot of unnecessary cost and waste from the manufacturing process.
Sakuu CTO Karl Littau explained how it all works in the recent Volta Foundation Battery Forum presentation “Dry Printing for Lithium Ion Battery Electrode Manufacturing with Sakuu.”
