Munro Live: Sakuu's Batteries Hit 1,000 Cycles
"We have paid attention to meet all commercial criteria all the way from UN 38.3, to not having voltage loss over calendar life- all of these criteria have been considered successfully. We can reduce carbon emissions by 40% on factory level and on the process level by 55%, just by replacing today’s wet coating process that uses a lot of solvents and heat with an entirely dry process, as it saves a lot of energy."
Sakuu’s Cypress battery technology recently reached two key industry milestones: 1000+ cycles, and UN 38.3 certification. Sandy Munro came back down to the Sakuu HQ in Silicon Valley to test it out on his popular Youtube channel, Munro Live.
Sandy Munro is a widely respected automotive industry veteran and engineering consultant specializing in machine tools and manufacturing, teardown benchmarkings, and reverse engineering. He goes behind the scenes for factory tours featuring groundbreaking technologies like Sakuu’s, and frequently interviews EV industry leaders such as Tesla “Technoking” Elon Musk and Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe.
In Sakuu’s second video feature on Munro Live, Sandy and Arwed Niestroj – SVP of E-mobility and product at Sakuu- discuss Sakuu’s recent strides, including the Cypress battery milestones, dry-process battery manufacturing, and applications of this technology.
